ExcellentBased on 275 reviewsA26 April 2024Great gym, great owner, very clean and the teachers take their time to learn you everything. Especially trainer Tjoo. I recommend everybody to train at this gym.Homer Simpson22 April 2024Highly recommend training at Yak Yai. It's authentic Muay Thai training with fantastic American customer service and ownership. I have trained at a few gyms across Thailand and can definitely recommend yak yai is one of the top gyms especially for those just starting out. There's a sports specific strength and conditioning warm up such as crab walks, Burpees, prowler etc.. bag work followed by 4 rounds of pad works, rounds of sparring and then clinch techniques followed by clinching rounds. Finishing off with hundreds knees, teeps, sit ups and the occasionally ice bath!. Trainers will give you guidance on techniques whilst observing you on bags and pads. For those starting out you are able to go at your own pace! Really enjoyed my time with Henry and KC If your planning to come to Phuket to train at some of the bigger gyms you will not get the personal attention you need like you would here at yak yai!!Yuki Nakamura20 April 2024For a little context, my partner and I have travelled around Thailand and have hit 8 gyms now (including a lot of the most well known ones), and I’m at an intermediate level with almost a years experience and he’s got about 5 years experience, teaches classes back home and we both train Muay Thai 6 days a week. This is our collective opinion on this gym: First off, Yak Yai is the cleanest gym we have been to in ALL of Thailand. Forget about the black feet you get everywhere else it’s not happening here. Every single trainer in there is warm, friendly, funny and INSANELY skilled in what they do. Pad work out of this world and the class structure is so well tailored to every level. It was also the most effective, physically exerting class we’ve done. The first time I felt sore the next day, first time I had to take breaks in rounds my whole time in Thailand. They work you so well and focus on functional training not just skipping and running like everywhere else. The owners are amazing people, great trainers backed by very impressive accolades. You can tell they do this out of love for the art and not for becoming overly commercialized like a lot of other gyms. Lastly, need to mention their apparel. The coolest gear (tops, jerseys, shorts) we've bought from any gym by a mile. High quality, not overpriced and so well designed. Everything looks so sick, and so comfortable. Mark my words this place is gonna be the next big thing once more and more people catch on. One of, if not the best Muay Thai gym in Thailand.Steven Hans20 April 2024This gym is a fantastic find in Phuket! I wouldn't call it a hidden gem anymore - everyone there deserves recognition. The trainers were incredible, patient with everyone from beginners to experienced fighters. I learned so much and felt genuinely cared for. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Phuket! Thanks for everything!Joni Quick20 April 2024I booked a private session at Yak Yai and got lucky to have the help from two people through most of the session. My session with Kru Noi was very good. I’m a beginner, and I was looking to get as much guidance as possible with the technique and he was extremely patient with me. As a beginner, I would 100% recommend the trainers here if you really want to learn the proper technique, vs just moving through the motions. I worked with Kru Noi for multiple sessions following which have improved my skill, and helped me build more confidence with my training. Thank you again 🙏🏻Eason Zhou12 April 2024Great muaythai gym in puket, you can learn many skill hereAriean Maleklo10 April 2024I recently had the privilege of training at Yak Yai Muay Thai Gym in Phuket, and I am beyond impressed. Not only does this gym offer top-notch training for the Pad Holder Certificate, but it is also the cleanest gym I have encountered in Thailand. The dedication to cleanliness and hygiene makes for a very comfortable and safe training environment, which, combined with the quality of instruction, makes Yak Yai stand out. The trainers are knowledgeable, passionate, and incredibly supportive, ensuring that every student receives the attention and guidance they need to succeed. Whether you’re aiming to obtain your Pad Holder Certificate or simply looking to improve your Muay Thai skills, Yak Yai Muay Thai Gym is the place to be. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality training experience in a pristine environment. Thank you, Yak Yai, for such a rewarding experience!Michail Smygol9 April 2024Very nice experience and private session. I had a good time very friendly team. Thumbs up and next time we will see us again. 👍🏼Suhal S Shetty9 April 2024Had my first muay thai class here. All the staffs are extremely friendly. I'll definitely be back for more sessions Kru Jacky was my personal trainer, he's extremely beginner friendly and teaches you what to do.
