How To Take Care Of Your Trainer (Or Trainers)

It takes a team to grow, and at Yak Yai Muay Thai, our trainers look after all of our fighters and members. If you want to fight or train hard, our trainers are here to help.

Our training structure is designed for everyone and can be tailored to each individual. We make classes enjoyable and enjoyable while remaining intense enough to meet your level.

For members who are not interested in fighting, this is how you can look after your trainer or team of trainers:

  • While training, if the trainer helps and spars with you, do not hit them with 100%. They aren’t your punching bags and are there to teach you during the session.
  • Show them you care and ask questions on how to improve anything you’re looking to get better at.
  • Take some private sessions with the trainer. The difference between our gym and others is that we do not take a large cut of their private sessions to ensure they can make a living.
  • Tips are appreciated, but small gifts like drinks and snacks are also great.
  • It is a nice gesture to take your trainer out to eat and maybe a beer to cool down on a Saturday night.

Here are some ways for fighters to care for their trainers while training or fighting:

  • Regularly check up on your trainer. They put a lot of time into you and will train you even when they are sick or tired.
  • Gift them drinks like sponsor and electrolyte drinks during class to keep them hydrated.
  • Thank them for everything they do – your words mean a lot!
  • Don’t take offense if they cannot train you for the session; our other trainers will sometimes take over to give them rest if they are tired. We are a team, and every trainer will do their best to take care of everyone.
  • After a fight, tip your trainer or purchase the team of trainers some drinks. The tip doesn’t have to be much. As for the drinks, it’s normal to get a bunch of sponsors and electrolyte drinks.
  • Take your trainer out to dinner, it is appreciated and a nice way to spend time together!

These are some ways to look after your trainer or team of trainers. They work hard during the day, and anything you do to show them you care is appreciated. I hope this helps anyone who is unsure how to care for their trainer!
