11 Helpful Tips For Planning Your Trip To Phuket, Thailand, To Train At Yak Yai Muay Thai
Are you interested in training with us in Phuket, Thailand? Here are some

pointers to help you prepare for your trip to Yak Yai Muay Thai!

1. Save some money for your trip and have some emergency funds on hand just in case (Phuket is cheap, but expensive compared to other parts of Thailand).

2. Begin planning ahead of time and look for nearby accommodations. If you intend to stay for more than two months, it is best to book a hotel for one week so you can look for affordable housing.

3. Check your passport expiration date and make sure you have at least 6 months from the date of arrival to avoid any problems in the future.

4. The type of visa you require will be determined by the length of your stay.

5. Train Muay Thai at your home gym on a regular basis so that you are ready to train when you arrive.

6. Get in the habit of running at least 5km per day, Monday through Saturday.

7. If you are a high-level fighter who wants to fight as soon as possible after arriving at major shows, you must be close to your fighting weight and in fighting shape.

8. If you take supplements on a regular basis, bring enough to last the duration of your trip to save money.

9. You should bring your mouth guard and plenty of underwear with you (you can purchase gear here in the fight shops).

10. One thing that may be difficult to prepare for depending on where you live is the heat if you live in a cooler part of the world. If you have any food allergies, make a screenshot of what you’re allergic to in the Google Translate app in case the restaurant you’re visiting doesn’t speak English (most restaurants in Phuket understand English or some).

11. Another tip is to relax when you arrive, take your time getting settled, and only attend one class so you know what you’re getting yourself into. Training twice a day is taxing on the body, especially when you’re jetlagged, so take it easy when you first arrive.
